Prince William County’s Department of Development Services is offering creative, challenging, and rewarding work as an Affordable Housing Development Program Manager. This position is part of an exciting new program in the County and the person in this role will be able to lead and manage the program!
This position is a member of the Land Development Division and manages a multi-agency coordination Program. If you are looking for a highly visible role that will be involved in creating procedures, policy and processes, as well as using great communication skills – this is the job for you!
About This Role:
- Manage the Affordable Dwelling Unit Ordinance (AfDU) Program related to Development submissions (site plan/subdivision)
- Manage and coordinate all AfDU projects from application and site plan submission to occupancy.
- Intake, review and complete all applications within required timeframe
- Coordinate with other Development Agencies on bonus density applications waivers/requirements
- Respond to information requests
- Research projects
- Work with the Zoning Administrator to schedule any Board of Zoning Appeals hearings needed
- Track and monitor progress of projects from application to occupancy
- Reviewing site plan/subdivision plans submitted under the ordinance
- Potential to expand role to include additional analysis and reporting on affordable housing projects not using the ordinance.
- Collaborating with the Planning Office on rezoning cases that utilize the ordinance.
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or G.E.D. and 6 years of related project management in construction experience.
Preferences: - 3 years of professional experience related to land development tasks, such as the review of site and subdivision plans
- 2-3 years of Project management experience
- Professional experience related to building construction and subdivision plans, inspections enforcement
- Knowledge and application of the zoning ordinance and Design and Construction Standards Manual (DCSM)
- Experience with independently performing project management for site development projects
- Experience utilizing various computer software programs
Work Schedule:
This position works a standard Monday-Friday schedule, working 37.5 hours per week. This position can telework 1 day per week after an initial probationary period. May revert to in-office scheduling if business needs change.
Starting Salary Range: $100,000 - $110,000/yr. We also offer great benefits including:
