The accredited Department of Public Works is seeking a Business Services Administrator to join our management team. This critical role will oversee strategic planning and accreditation, communications, and policy development to support the department mission and operational efficiency.
About This Role:
As the Business Services Administrator, you will be responsible for key business functions within Public Works, including strategic planning and accreditations, communications and community outreach, and special projects and initiatives managing cross-divisions such as the landscaping projects coordinated through the Board of County Supervisors’ offices, and the Parking Initiative.
This position also involves supervising two key employees within the Director’s office, ensuring performance goals are met while maintaining efficiency and compliance with procedure and policy. Additionally, you will oversee the department’s website, coordinating updates with internal divisions and the office of Communication and Engagement.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. and 7 years of related experience.
Preferences:
The ideal candidate will have experience in strategic planning ,direct supervision of employees within a large Department, Agency or Company. Experience with policy and procedure is crucial. Prefer a candidate with a degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field. Knowledge and experience of Public Works programs would be desired but not necessary. Candidate would need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to respond to inquiries with patience and thoughtfulness. Candidate needs to demonstrate innovation and problem solving involving multiple stakeholders given the tasks assigned to this position and Public Works.

Work Schedule:
Normal Monday-Friday schedule in an office environment 37.50 hours/week, with visits to field staff and project sites. This position qualifies for occasional remote work options.
Starting Salary Range:
$91,162.50 – $121,836.00
